Hey guys... If you can imagine this.... My figure cannibalization and customizing has transmogrified into my Guitar Building.
I've got bodies, necks, hardware, and electronics in drawers, boxes, cases, and lined up against the wall.
Here's my latest project....
Yes, the top is perfectly smooth... it's called "Spalted Maple" which is where highly figured wood (crazy wood grain) is stabilized at a particular temperature and moisture right when it first starts to rot. It marblizes the wood and looks quite stunning when finished in lacquer or varnish. [img]smile.gif[/img]
I've got some ebay seller trying to tell me that it'll cost $45 to ship the Santa's Sleigh set from Playing Mantis's Rudolph line. On USPS's website it says that and 8lb box set to me via air mail would be less that $22. If she doesn't smarten up, she's not gonna get paid. [img]mad.gif[/img]
